Recap, Review, Results of WWE Night of Champions 2015

Tonight is the annual WWE Night of Champions event. Five championships were on the line and three epic matches took place that could have easily been championship matches. Before I begin my thoughts here are the results of Night of Champions.

-Preshow: Stardust and The Ascension defeated Neville and The Lucha Dragons
-WWE Intercontinental Championship: Kevin Owens defeated Ryback (c)
-Dolph Ziggler defeated Rusev
-WWE Tag Team Championship: The Dudley Boyz Defeated The New Day(c) by DQ
-WWE Divas Championship: Charlotte defeated Nikki Bella (c)
-The Wyatt Family defeated Roman Reigns/Dean Ambrose/Chris Jericho
-WWE United States Championship: John Cena defeated Seth Rollins (c)
-WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins (c) defeated Sting

Now why in the hell would you bring in a special mystery partner in just to take the fall. I was happy to see Chris Jericho back in a WWE ring but it didn’t make much sense. I have a feeling that this story is far from over. I think because this is about “family” WWE should be smart and use the Uso’s, use some of the other Samoans before the rivalry is over. I also see Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho having a feud to help build Ambrose’s credibility. Honestly that’s the only complaint I have for the show.

I love the fact that Kevin Owens is the new Intercontinental Champion. The Intercontinental Championship is the title for the workhorses and the best performers, Kevin Owens is a great performer and a workhorse. I think he’s going to make a great champion and will have some incredible matches as the champion. I love the Dudley Boyz and want them to become ten time tag team champions but I am also happy that they are building the story and not totally burying the New Day. Love them or hate them, The New Day right now is on fire and possibly the hottest thing in WWE. I am so happy that Charlotte is the new Divas Champion. I really hate certain people that get pushes because of power and the politics backstage. The only reason Nikki and Brie had the spotlight for so long is because of who they are dating. That’s why I couldn’t stand Michelle McCool because of who she was with when she was on top. The Divas revolution has official begun and hopefully we will be treated to better women’s matches.

Seth Rollins proved that he’s rapidly approaching legendary status. He wrestled John Cena and Sting back to back and had great matches with both men. I was actually shocked that Seth lost the United States title cleanly and with one Attitude Adjustment. I was happy that Sting and Rollins got have a decent match and it wasn’t just some quick squash. Sting appeared to be hurt during the match but I am not quite sure. After Rollins retained Sheamus tried to cash in but “The Demon” Kane made his returned and left both Rollins and Sheamus laying in the ring. I’ll be curious to hear the update on Sting, whether or not Cena starts the United States Open Challenge again and if Kane is next in line for the WWE Heavyweight Championship? All these questions will be answered tomorrow night on Monday Night Raw.The show was a solid show with some great wrestling matches so I will give it 7.5 out of 10. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. I am just happy that there are three new champions in WWE.  They are already building the hype for WWE’s next show with Hell in a Cell.
