The Buccaneers have joined the Cowboys, Raiders, and Lions as being dysfunctional

As I watched the TV on Friday night I couldn’t help but be shocked that the Tampa Bay Bucs fired Jon Gruden as head-coach. He has been there for seven years and has had a winning record every year. However he failed to make the playoffs after a 9-3 start. Gruden is a great coach and Tampa Bay in my eyes has made a monumental mistake. Where in football have you seen a coach and GM get fired then four hours later both of those spot are already filled but promoting within the organization. To me that’s impulsive and dysfunctional. You should at least interview people and give it a few weeks. I think this rash decision will come back to haunt the Bucs and their organization.

I will say this about Gruden, he may have one the Super Bowl his first year there but it wasn’t his team. It Tony Dungy’s team that he built up. And I honestly think that may have been thing to do him in. He couldn’t win with the team that he built and as a result, right or wrong, Jon Gruden is not a head coach in the NFL as of right now.

To me by making this decision the Bucs joined the Lions, Raiders and Cowboys as one of the most dysfunctional teams in the NFL. The ownerships of all these teams make rash and stupid decisions that always cost them. The Bucs will have their first losing season in a long time in 2009. You can count on it!
