Rickey Henderson in the Baseball Hall of Fame

All I can say is, it’s about time that one of the greatest of all time is now inducted in to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Rickey Henderson is the all time stolen bases leader with 1,406 stolen bases and if that doesn’t get you, I don’t know what would. Rickey Henderson was the greatest speedster to ever put on a pair baseball cleats. He moved around the bases like no one else before. However stolen bases wasn’t the only thing he accomplished in his career.

Henderson was 10 time All-Star, 1981 Gold Glove Award winner, 1990 AL MVP
1989 ALCS MVP, 1999 NL Comeback Player of the Year, 2 time World Series champion (1989, 1993)and a 3 time. Silver Slugger Award winner (1981, 1982, 1985). So as you can see Rickey Henderson has done at all in his career. He also has numerous other records For instance:

Single season records
Stolen bases- 130 in 1982
Stolen bases in a single postseason series- 8 in 1989 (ALCS)

Other Career Records
Runs scored- 2,295
Games led off with a home run- 81

So as you can see Rickey Henderson is most definitely a Hall of Famer. He played with many teams but I will always remember him as an Oakland Athletic. That’s who he was with when he broke the majority of his records. He won a World Series with them and the Toronto Blue Jays in 1993. I am very excited to see Ricky Henderson, one of the greatest of all time take his rightful place into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Congratulations Rickey, you deserve it. Also congrats to Jim Rice who was also elected into the Hall of Fame as well. I can’t wait for their speeches at Cooperstown
