The Chase for the Cup is on

Last night the field for the Sprint Cup, Chase for the Cup was set. Here are the standings for the First week of the cup.

Mark Martin 5040 —
Tony Stewart 5030 -10
Jimmie Johnson5030 -10
Denny Hamlin 5020 -20
Kasey Kahne 5020 -20
Jeff Gordon 5010 -20
Kurt Busch 5010 -30
Brian Vickers 5010 -30
Carl Edwards 5000 -40
Ryan Newman 5000 -40
Juan Pablo Montoya 5000 -40
Greg Biffle 5000 -40

Kyle Busch missed the chase by eight points and Matt Kenseth missed it by 38 points. Yet another reason I do not like the Chase for the Cup. These two guys easily could have cracked the top five in points under the old traditional ways of how NASCAR use to be ran. If Tony Stewart does not win the Sprint Cup this year I will no longer watch NASCAR. He has held the points for the majority of the season and for him not to win the Cup would be a travesty. I hope he does. These last ten races shall be interesting.
