Two Huge Matches Signed for Survivor Series

On November 22nd, it will truly be a night to remember when Survivor Series is on pay-per-view. WWE has not had two pay-per-views back to back that have been solid and have been worth watching in a long time. WWE Bragging Rights was a good pay-per-view despite what anyone says. Now they are building up Survivor Series to be one great show. The first match was announced this past Monday on Raw and it my opinion it could go down as the greatest WWE Championship match of all time.

It will be WWE Champion John Cena taking on Triple H and Shawn Michaels in a triple threat match. Triple and HBK are still in DX mode and an inevitable breakup of the group is foreseen. There is a lot of history in this match. Cena defeated HHH and HBK at Wrestlemania’s 22 and 23 respectively. HHH and HBK have had some great matches in the past and will be probably recapture the magic they have always has opponents. As a wrestling fan I would like to see Shawn Michaels win the WWE Championship again. The Showstopper has only held the four times in great career and has not held a World Championship since 2002. Triple H is a 13 time champion and John Cena is now a 7 time champion. I personally think Shawn still has the best matches, still tells the best stories in the ring and is still loved by more people then just about anyone on the WWE roster. This match could easily go down as one of the best matches of all time. A lot of people still think that the greatest triple threat match of all time was HHH vs. HBK vs. Benoit at Wrestlemania 20. I think WWE is trying to make sure this match has that same feeling. No one really expects Shawn to win the match but you never know. Anything is possible pro wrestling.

This is not the only triple threat match at Survivor Series. Last night at the Smackdown tapings it was determined that the World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker would be defending against the Big Show and Chris Jericho. This will mark the 19th anniversary since The Undertakers arrival in the WWE. He’s done a lot of great things since then and will continue to do so until he retires. However the Big Show has had a lot of success at Survivor Series. In 1999, he defeated Triple H and The Rock for the WWE Championship after defeating a whole entire team earlier in the night. Then in 2002, Big Show handed Brock Lesnar his first lost and won the WWE Championship in the process. Could this be the Big Shows night once again. Will will have to wait and see.

It’s kind of weird that they are breaking up DX and the unified tag team champions. I think some big things are going to happen for everyone involved in these two huge main event matches. The WWE is really trying to get momentum again. Look at all thats happened. Shane McMahon has left, Linda McMahon has left and the other wrestling company is making moves to get themselves noticed. The WWE is looking to pull out all the stops and get fans interested again. The crazy thing is that this is only part of the pay-per-view. There are four to five matches left to be announced. This is truly going to be an awesome PPV and on November 22nd I will be watching. Stay tuned for more matches to be announced.
