Thoughts on the Jose Canseco-Mark McGwire Saga

The war of words is definitely being heated up by Jose Canseco and Mark McGwire. Once former teammates who shared a common bond have now almost become enemies. Jose Canseco told McGwire to stop crying because there is no crying in baseball. McGwire then said he wasn’t going to go down to Canseco’s level. Canseco also said that he has lost out on more money and has suffered more then any of the other players who have used steroids. I tend to agree with Canseco on that matter but because he suffered the most he caused everyone else to suffer with him. Canseco also stated that McGwire should stop worrying because he’s being taken care of by St. Louis Cardinals.

The biggest shocker that came out of Canseco’s mouth is that he and Mark injected themselves before games when they played together in Oakland. Canseco also said that Mark knew what he was doing and the steroids did play a part of him getting 70 home runs in 1998. McGwire denies all of this and states he took steroids to help him recover from injuries. Obviously one person is lying and one person is telling the truth and I hate to say it but I actually believe Jose Canseco because he’s the most credible person right now as it relates to steroid use in baseball or atleast when it comes to Mark McGwire. These two need to be put on national TV and have a debate or something about this whole situation. I think it would make for great ratings and maybe once and for all, they would all shut up about it.
