TNA Against All Odds Recap

This past Sunday was TNA Against All Odds, and it was definitely full of surprises and it was a great show to watch. The show opened up with Ric Flair being bent of out shape about Eric Bischoff being the special guest referee for AJ Styles title match against Samoa Joe.

The first match was The Pope vs. Desmond Wolfe and it was another great match between the two. They are definitely the future of TNA. The Pope won and moved on in the tournament. The next tournament match was Matt Morgan vs. his tag team partnet Hernandez. This was a really solid match between two big men. Morgan won the match due to some questionable tactics and moved on to the tournment semifinals.

Next up was Kurt Angle and Mr. Anderson which is a match I’ve been wanting to see for a long time. This was a great match up that went back on forth but eventually Mr. Anderson took a few shortcuts to win the match. After the match Anderson spit on Angle’s Olympic Gold Medal. The last of the first round matches was between Abyss and Mick Foley. This match had some brutality which is right up their alley. Abyss beat Foley but didn’t look to happy about it. Abyss moves on.

The dream match that fans have wanted to see for a long time happened. The Nasty Boys took and Team 3D. Team 3D carried the whole match from what I saw. The Nasty Boys looked okay but not great. Jimmy Hart got involved in the match and helped the Nastys win so I am assuming this feud is far from over.

Next up was the Wild Aces Semifinals match between Matt Morgan and the Pope. This match was totally awesome because Morgan used his power while The Pope used his quickness and agility. The Pope won the match and moved on the finals. The other semifinal match was between Mr. Anderson and Abyss. Anderson took advantage of Abyss’ injuries from his previous match and moved on the finals to face The Pope.

The TNA World Title match was up next. AJ Styles and Samoa Joe had another classic encounter. I think it was better then their matches before just because their was a dominant heel and a dominant face and you knew who to cheer and boo for. AJ won the match thanks to help from Ric Flair and retained his title. Bischoff did call it right down the middle but it wasn’t enough.

The main event of the evening was the Wild Aces Tournament finals between Mr. Anderson and The Pope. Before Pope could get to the ring Hall and Syxx-Pac jumped him from behind backstage. Pope almost got counted out but made it to the ring. Anderson and Pope had a really great match and I really thought Mr. Anderson would win but in the end The Pope defeated Anderson and became the new number one contender to the TNA Heavyweight title. What a great night of wrestling action. Tune in tomorrow to see the fall out from Against All Odds.
