TNA Impact Recap-5/20/2010

The show started off with the naming of all the top 10 contenders for the TNA Heavyweight Title. Sting was named the number one contender and then he attacked Eric Bischoff. Abyss came in but he had no luck. However Jeff Hardy managed to get the bat away from Sting. Jeff Hardy versus Sting was announced for later on in the night.

Roxxi returned after a few months off with an ankle injury to take on Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne. It was a pretty good matchup that saw Roxxi actually defeating Madison in a non-title match up.

Kurt Angle came out talking about how he’s not the best anymore and how he’s now going to try and be the best again. He took himself out of the top 10 contenders and has decided to wrestle everyone on the list until he gets to number one.

Rob Terry took on Orlando Jordan in a non-title match and in ended with the referee stopping the match because Rob Terry was in pain from the leg hold. The feud between Rob Terry and OJ is far from over. I’ll be curious to see what they do next.

Beer Money took RVD and Jay Lethal in a pretty competative match. Lethal dropped the Macho Man gimmick and is being his own person. RVD and Lethal won the match but chaos broke after the match. Flair and Lethal were fighting up the ramp and Sting attacked RVD with a chair.

Kazarian won an 8-man X Division Battle Royal to claim the number 10 spot on the Top 10 contenders list for the Heavyweight Title. So as of right now, the Top 10 contenders list looks like this:

1. Sting
2. AJ Styles
3. Jeff Hardy
4. Mr. Anderson
5. Abyss
6. Desmond Wolfe
7. The Pope
8. Rob Terry
9. Samoa Joe
10. Kazarian

Sting and Jeff Hardy were the Main Event. Hardy won with some help from Mr. Anderson but in the end, Sting hit both men with the baseball bat to end the show. Keep checking back for more on Slammiversary.
