TNA Impact Recap-5/3/2010

The show started off with Jay Lethal coming out to Ric Flair’s music and acting like him. He has Ric Flair’s ring and started cutting a Ric Flair promo. After a few minutes of this Flair came out, and Lethal gave the ring back. Lethal said he didn’t mean any disrespect but Flair took it as such so the two men brawled until AJ, Beer Money and Desmond came out to beat him. Team 3D, Abyss and RVD came out to make the save but brawl continued for another 20 minutes. Hogan then announced a few matches later for the evening.

The first match of the evening was Brian Kendrick and Doug Williams versus Jesse Neal and Shannon Moore. Neal and Moore are now called INK Inc. which is kind of funny. Anyways I love Doug Williams’ promos because he is so funny and outlandish. He is still wearing the X Division Championship and said he is still the rightful champion. INK Inc. won the match when Williams wasn’t at his corner to be tagged in by Kendrick. After the match Kendrick and Williams argued until Samoa Joe came out and took them both out.

Mr. Anderson came out and mocked The Pope, after he attacked Pope backstage. It was a really crazy promo that was interupted by Jeff Hardy who challanged Anderson to a match at Sacrifice. Hardy delivered the twist of fate and the match is on for May 16th.

Next up it was The Beautiful People(C) versus Tara, Taylor Wilde and Sarita with all the titles on the line once again. Not much of a match here except that Tara turned out her partners and cost them the match.

The third match of the evening was Beer Money versus Team 3D versus The Motor City Machine Guns. This match would have been great if The Band wouldn’t have got involved and ended the match. Eric Young came out and joined the Band by attacking Team 3D. The Machine Guns tried attacking Eric Young but then got ambushed by Beer Money. The Band and Beer Money stood tall in the ring.

Up next was AJ Styles versus Abyss in the Monster’s Ball match. I liked the old Monster’s Ball matches where they got really crazy. This was not as crazy as it should have been, and in fact it wasn’t even really hardcore. AJ beat Abyss after Ric and Chelsea distracted him.

The Main Event of the evening was Desmond Wolfe versus Rob Van Dam(C) for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. It was a short match that should have gone longer but it didn’t. AJ came in after RVD won and said he would be cashing in his rematch as Sacrifice.

The Sting-Hogan show down is what ended the night and they talked on and on about things and then Jeff Jarrett came out and attacked Sting with the bat but Hogan stopped him to close the show.

As a result of Mondays Impact here is the updated lineup for Sacrifice.
