Randy Orton Wins WWE Championship at Night of Champions

Well I actually took time to watch a WWE pay-per-view last night and it wasn’t as good as TNA’s last PPV but it was decent. A lot of new champions crowned last night. The only non-title match last night was CM Punk vs. Big Show. It was a good solid match with Punk getting knocked out and beat in his hometown.

Dolph Ziggler continues to reign as the WWE Intercontinental Champion by beating Kofi Kingston with some help from Vickie Guerrero. This little feud between the two has been really good, and they have had some solid matches.

The match I really enjoyed was The Miz vs. Bryan Danielson. Yes, I am referring to him by his Indy name. I think the name Daniel Bryan sucks. Anyways, it was great to see WWE finally recognize great talent when it walks through the doors. Danielson is probably the best pure wrestler they have had since Angle and Benoit. Bryan Danielson will have a great career in WWE if he is used right. I am looking forward to him wrestling other guys on the roster now.

I am not even going to talk about the Womens-Divas unification title match. I am so so sick of LayCool. They are a rip off of TNA’s Beautiful People and they suck at the gimmick too. The only reason McCool gets her TV time is because of who she’s married to. If she was in TNA she wouldn’t be able to hang with the likes of Taylor Wilde, The Beautiful People and others. I am disgusted with this. Melina has more talent then McCool ever thought about having.

The Tag Team Turmoil match was pointless. Hart Dynasty was eliminated first by the Uso’s who I thought would win the match and titles. Santino and Kozloff were eliminated by the Uso’s as well. Mark Henry and Evan Bourne came in eliminated the Uso’s. It came down to Henry and Bourne and the final team which was Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes. Some people hate the pairing of these two, but I think it’s a good pairing. They are both very solid wrestlers and I think McIntyre and Rhodes will have a nice run as the tag team champs. I must say though, the new belts look absolutely horrid.

In a No Holds Barred, Kane defended the World Heavyweight Title against The Undertaker. It was a knock down drag out from the opening bell. These two always have good matches but the best match they ever had was at Wrestlemania 14. Undertaker has never lost to Kane on a pay-per-view but it was a night of firsts last night. Kane defeated The Undertaker with a tombstone piledriver. I am so happy that Kane is getting the push and title reign he deserves after all these years. WWE finally has righted a wrong with Kane.

The Main Event of the evening was the 6-Pack Challenge for the WWE Championship. It was an elimination match so the last one not eliminated became champion. WWE Champion Sheamus defended against Randy Orton, John Cena, Edge, Chris Jericho and Wade Barrett. Chris Jericho was the first man eliminated ending his WWE career…for now. Edge was eliminated shortly after. When it got down to four, Nexus interfered costing John Cena another chance at winning the WWE Championship. Randy Orton took out Nexus with the help of Cena. Orton hit the RKO on Barrett, then to Sheamus to become the new WWE Champion. All I got to say is it’s about time that the real superstar of WWE reigns supreme again. Remember how in the attitude era when they tried making The Rock the superstar yet Stone Cold was more popular with the fans. Well it’s the same in my opinion. Orton’s popularity has surpassed John Cena. Wrestling fans appreciate good wrestling and that’s why I like Orton. The Viper has got the gold and I am actually somewhat excited to watch Raw again.

It was a decent showing for WWE last night but TNA’s PPV’s have been way better this year. Hopefully WWE can build off the momentum of Orton winning the title. We will have to see. RKO RKO RKO, The Viper has struck again.
