College Football Weekly

This week was another week of upsets and shakeups. Texas beat #5 Nebraska, Kentucky beat #10 South Carolina, Hawaii beat #19 Nevada, Miss. St beat #22 Florida, Washington beat #24 Oregon St., and #18 Wisconsin beat #1 Ohio State. I would seriously hate to be ranked #1 right because they keep losing. A lot of pressure on all the teams this year to do well. Next week we have some big games that include:

No. 6 LSU at No. 4 Auburn
No. 13 Wisconsin at No. 15 Iowa
No. 16 Nebraska at No. 14 Oklahoma State
No. 1 Oklahoma at No. 11 Missouri

These four games could easily shakeup the standings depending on which way they go. Here the current and official rankings for the BCS.

1 Oklahoma 6-0
2 Oregon 6-0
3 Boise State 6-0
4 Auburn 7-0
5 TCU 7-0
6 LSU 7-0
7 Michigan State 7-0
8 Alabama 6-1
9 Utah 6-0
10 Ohio State 6-1
11 Missouri 6-0
12 Stanford 5-1
13 Wisconsin 6-1
14 Oklahoma State 6-0
15 Iowa 5-1
16 Nebraska 5-1
17 Florida State 6-1
18 Arizona 5-1
19 Texas 4-2
20 West Virginia 5-1
21 South Carolina 4-2
22 Kansas State 5-1
23 Arkansas 4-2
24 Mississippi State 5-2
25 Virginia Tech 5-2

It is very hard to believe that Michigan State is the highest ranked Big Ten team but they have an Ohio State loss to thank for that. Oklahoma is back where they usually are and that’s at the top. However people are still bickering about Boise State not being number 1. The question is why should they be? They have maybe one tough game all year. They have beaten one decent teams in a bowl games and that’s TCU. They did beat Oklahoma in 2007 which is really when the interest was sparked. Until Boise St. starts beating good teams on a regular basis they don’t deserve the number 1 spot. If you don’t agree with me, oh well but all you have to do is look at the strength of the schedules to prove my point. Check back next week for more.
