Dale Earnhardt to be Honored at Daytona

This year at the Daytona 500, lap three will be a silent tribute to the man who died there 10 years ago. It’s hard to believe that Dale Earnhardt has been gone for a decade now. They will also be painting a number three the night before the race on the infield grass.

There have been a lot of tributes to Dale Earnhardt over the years but I think the best tribute anyone could have is his son Dale Earnhardt Jr. winning the pole for the Daytona 500. How fitting is it that the legends son won his first Daytona pole on the 10th anniversary of his fathers death.

It’s going to be an emotional day for everyone racing in the Daytona 500 but the pressure is on for Dale Jr. to win this race. A lot of people are really wanting him to win considering it’s been 10 years since his dad’s passing. Only time will tell to see what happens. Stay tuned for more on Sunday.
