2011 NFL Week 5 Predictions

It’s going to be a tough week between some tough teams and even though it’s early I think this week is going to be a tone setter for how the rest of the year is going to go for certain teams. So are you ready? I sure hope so because here are my predictions for the week.

Tennessee Titans (3-1) at Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2)
This game is intriguing because the Titans really haven’t played anyone tough except the Ravens and that is a game that they won. With Big Ben being very questionable for this game and with James Harrison being out with his injury I really think that the Titans are going to steal a win from the Steelers and be on top of their division after the end of this week.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1) at San Francisco 49ers (3-1)
This game is should tell a lot about both teams because neither team has beaten anyone good because the 49ers played a very overrated Eagles team last week. Both teams haven’t had any blowouts and win by the skin of their teeth. However I do think the Bucs are a better team with a more cohesiveness because they have been together longer. I am going with the Bucs who will be sitting on top of the NFC South by the end of the week.

New York Jets (2-2) at New England Patriots (3-1)

This rivalry has always been fun to watch especially because of all the trash talking involved. The Jets really need to win this game because if they don’t, I think it’s going to be the thing that breaks them for the year. Do I think the Jets can win this game? Yes. Do I think they will? No. I think Tom Brady and is offense are too hot right now and the Jets seem to be lacking in every area. This will be the week that the Patriots start running away with the division.

Chicago Bears (2-2) at Detroit Lions (4-0)

Finally Detroit has comeback to Monday Night Football. I think this will be a good test for the Lions this week depending on what Bears team shows up. Now that I say that it’s because of how inconsistent the Bears are is why I think Detroit will win and have their way with Jay Cutler.  Detroit can be down but then come back in a heartbeat like they have done the last two weeks. Do I think Detroit will be down at all in this game? No. I think Detroit will be fired up and will want to show the national audience what they are made of.
Those are my predictions for the week. Be sure to check back next week for the recap.
