The State of WWE- 10/11/11

Over the last couple of years if you have read this blog, you would know how crticial I have been of WWE. I’ve been saying for a long time that the WWE has been boring and predictable. Ever since the Money in the Bank PPV in July WWE has been anything but boring and predictable.
We have had walkouts, abrupt endings and more COO changes then we have had title changes.  Right now the key players in this craziness are Triple H, CM Punk, Miz, R-Truth,  David Otunga and many others.  As much as I don’t like him I think putting John Lauranitis on TV was a great idea. He is so like Vince back when Vince was an over the top heel in the late 90’s.  It’s sad two of the most hated people in WWE aren’t even wrestlers. Those two being Lauranitis and Michael Cole. I think Cole should be a manager and Lauranitis needs to remain on TV for the long term.
Lets take a look at the current champions of WWE right now:
WWE Champion- Alberto Del Rio
World Heavyweight Champion- Mark Henry
United States Champion- Dolph Ziggler
Intercontinental Champion- Cody Rhodes
Tag Team Champions- Air Boom (Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne)
Diva’s Champion- Beth Phoenix
I love how almost every titleholder is a heel. That’s what fans pay to see, is to watch when the heel finally gets beat for a title.  Everyone on that list is deserving of a title.  It’s nice to see guys other then John Cena and Randy Orton have a title.  The thing that is very disappointing is that John Morrison and Drew McIntyre are not getting the pushes they deserve. They both have incredible talent but are paying the price for things that really are out of their control.
WWE is slowly building for Survivor Series and I have a feeling that we will see a really great pay-per-view. We already know that Cena and The Rock will be teaming together but who team with them and who will they be against? Then from there you build towards Wrestlemania. These next few months could some of the greatest months of WWE TV we have seen in quite some time.
I think within the next year you’re going to see CM Punk, Miz, Alberto Del Rio and Sheamus just really dominate the scene in WWE. Sheamus and Punk seem to be the top faces and Miz and Del Rio seem to be the top heels.  I also see Orton and Cena start to help get younger guys over and having less title reigns.  WWE is doing a lot better job developing the younger talent and giving the airtime to shine.
There a lot of things I would like to see WWE do but here the top 5 things I would like to see happen:
1-John Morrison as WWE or World Heavyweight Champion
2-Ted Dibiase holding a singles title
3- Michael McGuillicutty wrestling under his real name, Joe Hennig
4-The re-emergence of the Tag team and Cruiserweight divisions
5-Bring back WWE Legends that can still wrestle to help get the younger guys over.
Although WWE is still considered PG,  I really sense another Attitude Era coming  where you should expect the unexpected. WWE is getting back to thing that made them successful. They are having great matches, unpredictable and unique TV, and the element of surprise.  Keep tuning in for more because WWE is on the rise once again
