NBA Off-Season Moves as of 6/27/2012

With the NBA drive tomorrow there have been a lot of moves that have dramatically changed the landscape of certain teams. Some of these moves took place in during the playoffs and towards the end of the season but it’s the off-season and these changes will effect what teams do in the off-season.

-Detroit Pistons traded guard Ben Gordon and a future first-round draft choice to the Charlotte Bobcats for guard Corey Maggette
-Minnesota Timberwolves acquired forward Chase Budinger and the rights to forward Lior Eliyahu from the Houston Rockets for the 2012 18th overall draft pick. 

-Atlanta Hawks named Danny Ferry president of basketball operations and general manager.

-New Orleans Hornets traded forward Trevor Ariza and center Emeka Okafor to the Washington Wizards for forward Rashard Lewis and a 2012 second-round draft pick.

-Orlando Magic fired coach Stan Van Gundy and general manager Otis Smith.

-L.A. Clippers exercised the team option for next season on the contract of coach Vinny Del Negro.
-Dallas Mavericks agreed to terms with coach Rick Carlisle on a new contract.
-Philadelphia 76ers named Julius Erving strategic adviser to the CEO and ownership group.
