WWE Cruiserweight Classic: Episode 7

Last week on the Cruiserweight Classic I was very disappointed to see Jack Gallagher and Tony Nese get eliminated. The matches were great last week but I wasn’t feeling. This week I was hoping I would feel it and get into it. The matches were great and the second round has been completed. It was a great way to cap off the second round. I guess Johnny Gargano has a knack for closing out rounds and making them count win or lose.

Tonight’s first match was between Rich Swann and Lince Dorado. I love Swann’s charisma and attitude. He has an incredible story but his struggles have not stopped him. Lince Dorado is pretty entertaining himself and that made for a great fast pace match. Swann won which I thought was great but I don’t think we have seen the last of Lince Dorado. Following that was Drew Gulak taking on one of the best wrestlers in the world in Zack Sabre Jr. I love Sabre Jr and everything he’s doing. This tournament has been beneficial to him and will probably make his stock rise even more. Drew Gulak is no slouch when it comes to technical wrestling either. This was the best technical wrestling match in the Classic so far. Gulak and Sabre Jr. both belong in WWE with their styles. It’s a style that is sorely missed and much needed. Even though Gulak didn’t advance he is someone to look out for in the future. The Main Event was Johnny Gargano and TJ Perkins. Gargano has been in some high profiled matches lately on the WWE Network so this was a good match for Perkins especially now the he’s going to be on Raw’s Cruiserweight Division. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Gargano and Perkins after this wonderful match. Perkins won but Gargano is becoming an elite performer.

The third round has some great matches and I have a feeling they are going to pick the intensity. The third round matches are Akira Tozawa vs. Gran Metalik, Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Noam Dar, Brian Kendrick vs. Kota Ibushi, and TJ Perkins vs. Rich Swann. So far the two guys I picked to win it are still in it. I still feel Sabre Jr. and Kota Ibushi are going to make the finals and have WWE’s Match of the Year. This Cruiserweight Classic has elevated all of the talent and as we learned the Raw Cruiserweight Division will feature Rich Swann, Brian Kendrick, Noam Dar and TJ Perkins. I am sure there will be more names to come. Keep tuning in for more on the Cruiserweight Classic.
