Batista to be Inducted Into the 2020 WWE Hall of Fame

At Wrestlemania 35, Batista wrestled Triple H in what he considered to be his retirement match. One year later, he will be going into the WWE Hall of Fame during the week of Wrestlemania 36. Batista had a very incredible run from 2002-2010 and since his departure from WWE has been on another incredible run in Hollywood. The general public may know him from Guardians of the Galaxy, The Man with the Iron Fists, Riddick and Stuber. Long before he appeared in those movies, he was considered to be one of WWE’s biggest superstars. He spent time at Ohio Valley Wrestling in 2000 until he started appearing on TV in 2002. His first run was as Deacon Batista, who was a tag partner with Reverend D-Von. When the angle and partnership wasn’t working out they went in completely different direction.

In late 2002, Batista began his association with Ric Flair. The Nature Boy began accompanying and partnering with Batista on a regular basis. When 2003 began the formation of Evolution happened and Batista joined Triple, Ric Flair and Randy Orton in the group. For nearly two years Evolution dominated Monday Night Raw until Batista won the 2005 Royal Rumble. He went on to challenge his mentor Triple H at Wrestlemania 21, where he won his first World Heavyweight Champion. When his feud with Triple H was over he became one of the major players on Smackdown. He had feuds with JBL, Eddie Guerrero, Booker T and Edge. Towards the end of his initial WWE run he feuded with John Cena over the WWE Championship.

Batista returned to WWE in 2014 at the Royal Rumble. He won the Royal Rumble and aligned himself with Triple H once again to help stop Daniel Bryan and the Yes Movement. When Batista failed to capture the WWE Championship the faction of Evolution re-formed to take on The Shield. After Evolution failed to defeat The Shield on two separate occasions, Batista left WWE again and was not seen again for five years. He reappeared to re-ignite his feud with Triple H and have one last match. Batista went out his way and has a lot to be proud of. He is a six time World Champion, four time Tag Team Champion and won the prestigious Royal Rumble on two occasions. Congratulations to Batista on his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2020.
